Recruiting Thursday...on Wednesday

RB Jamel James, 5-11, 218, 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Katy, Texas, Cinco Ranch High School picked the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from LSU and Texas Tech. He was getting interest from Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon and others. Arkansas got a huge jump on the 2013 recruiting class when highly regarded running back James orally committed to the Hogs last Saturday. Click to Listen

LB Eddie Porter, 6-3, 245, 4.68 of Blinn C.C. lists Arkansas, California and Miss St as his top 3 schools. He has offers from all three along with Kansas State and Iowa State. Click to Listen

OT Ronnie Stanley of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman said he has between 25 to 30 offers and is planning to narrow the list to 10 in a week or two. He said Arkansas has a good chance of making the cut because of the way receiver coach Kris Cinkovich and offensive line coach Chris Klenakis are recruiting him. Click to Listen

CBSSports' Gary Parrish on SAW

OK, we'll try to do our best to succinctly describe the Gary Parrish/Kentucky athletic department brouhaha. Here we go. Parrish wrote an article revolving around an earlier Chicago Sun-Times article that questioned the legitimacy of Kentucky's recruitment of Anthony Davis. Kentucky's Sports Information Director, DeWayne Peevy, didn't appreciate this article--for some reason we're still not sure we understand--and tweeted about revoking his press credentials at Rupp Arena. That's what you call a Media Relations Faux Pas. Moral of the story? If you work in the media, stop tweeting after 10 PM. Nothing good will come from it. Click to Listen
