Fred Willard

We always look forward to getting big names on the show. Fred Willard pre-dates Shawn with most of his credits, but as of late as Shawn likes 'Best In Show'. Anywho, we were fortunate enough to get Fred Willard on the show and this is the interview with Fred Willard.

Hog Grass Prank

We have been having fun with the UofA selling grass from Razorback Stadium(heck of an idea). Jay dared me to prank call Hog Heaven with the goal being for the person on the phone to smell the grass. The character is Roscoe Manbro and I am sure he will strike again soon.
Below is how it went down

John L. Smith
John L. Smith was kind enough to come on the show Friday. A media teleconference was held later in the day but we managed to get coach on for a quick one on one.
Coach is a fun guy who appears to be a thrill seeker. Here is the interview with John L. Smith.

Politics 101 with Wally Hall

When it comes to getting things done in Arkansas sports, only one guy tells it Like It Is. When Sports Animal Wally Hall makes his mind up that something needs to be done, even though he has no AD or coaching experience, he has no problem speaking his mind. After the resume building win over #7 Texas, we were able to get Jeff Long on with us. Now Jeff is no stranger to the program and I think he kinda likes the way we conduct business on-air, but Wally had an agenda and it was his night to voice his opinion state-wide..."Jeff...Mr. AD...Long, you need to lock that boy in. Don't let him get away, certainly nowhere in the SEC!!!" Jeff Long on the Sports Animals.

It's Official Gregg Doyel is a(n) _______!!!

OK, by now you no doubt have read the article. If not, here is the link to it...link. Now, with that said, Shawn decided to call the JerkA$$ down on the show. I will tell you that we told him before we went on the air we told him that we would ask him the tough questions about his "investigative facts" about the matter that he wrote about...he was agreeable to this...what we got was a pompous, arrogant, self righteous jerk who wrote an op-ed about his alma-mater hangin' half-a-hundy on the UA. In my research on this "columnist", I discovered another article on Gregg Doyel and his past...link. Have a nice day Mr. Doyel, and btw, if you ever, AND I MEAN EEEEVVVVEEEERRRRR, come within the borders of the state of Arkansas you had better not use your real name. For those of you who want to get angry, listen to this.

The Montana Cowboy!!!
We have one good game and a huge sigh of relief comes from BP...I'm not talkin' 'bout British Petroleum. We all thought Bobby Petrino was a bit of a Mafia Boss when it came to interviews, all he needed was a little tension breaker...like, let's see, an upset win over the Number 20 team and his former boss - AUBURN!!! Thanks to Kevin Trainor, Shawn and Wally got 5 minutes with the coach...that's about all he'll allow anyone individually it seems(unless...wait, nope, not even the national press. Only the SEC gets up to 10 mins, and only on Wednesdays). This one was actually kinda fun...Bobby Petrino, the Montana "City"boy. (thanks coach - lol)
Kleine vs. Barkley: Double or Nothing Paid off
OK, so how many of us gave the hogs a realistic shot at winning against Auburn. Certainly not Charles Barkley...last year he said we had no chance, this year he said we had no chance but that it was like two ugly girls going to the dance. We found out that while we may be ugly, we are not fat...lol. And we found out that Charles is not either. He said he would be back the Monday after the game and true to his word he was...Joe Kleine and Charles Barkley 2.

For the second year in a row we hosted the Joe vs. Chuck debate on the annual Arkansas vs. Auburn game. Joe Kleine in studio and Charles Barkley on the phone and hilarity ensues. This is the entire interview uncut, uncensored and unbiased...enjoy at your convenience. Joe vs. Sir Charles

Schneider for President!!!
What a day to get this interview, the new Adam Sandler movie is coming out and his buddy Rob Schneider is on a phone junket to anyone who will talk with him...he is funny as hell, why not...so here it is...Shawn Arnell and Rob Schneider. Oh, and he says it's a crappy website (I won't disagree), but take the time to check out the graduation speech...HI-larious!!! www.robschneider.com

Two great interviews
OK, so every once in a great while strange things happen that you don't expect. While on the phone with Mike Conley Sr., we got the opportunity to talk with Greg Oden of the NBA. Click here for that interview. We also spent time with Coach Campbell with the UA talking about Petrinos summer camps in Fayetteville. Click here for that interview and all of the info on the camps.

Benton's Own Cliff Lee
I want to take this space to thank Cliff Lee for joining us live on the show. What a guy; a family man, a hunter and fisherman, a Razorback, an Arkansan and the hottest pitcher in MLB. Listen to the entire interview including Cliff calling out Wally Hall. Click here to listen to the interview.

They Wanted it More Than We Did
Thank goodness our founding fathers didn't say that or we would be talking about a whole other set of issues.
I cringe every time I hear a player use THAT phrase after a lose. Note to all players; please keep THAT comment to yourself. Seriously, the phrase sounds like the Hogs performance against Georgia, lazy and passive. Ouch!
And speaking of their play, the most frustrating part is how it was all right there for the taking. I seriously doubt Arkansas will ever have a chance to play for the SEC Championship again against a sub .500 team. But hey, they wanted it more than Arkansas.
CRINGE!!!
So let's rally the team against the Hoosiers. Which Hog team will show up? Hopefully, the team will inform their hard working blue collar coach before tip off. Because, if the Arkansas players aren't feeling it then at least let the Man know so he can put players in the game who want it more than Indiana.
It is time for the Hogs to want it more.

Help Me Understand
Recap, from November to February, central Arkansas was snow exempt. Not a flake, notta! After a dusting earlier this week, I was just told the Little Rock area is under a Winter Storm Warning? Are you kidding me?
This should be interesting; nothing is more joyful yet painful to watch than Arkansans driving in the snow. It is sorta like watching the Hogs on the road, we try but we just can't do it. There is no middle ground for us, I promise you tomorrow will include one of the two scenarios.
1) You will be stuck behind a driver who is so scared that they lean forward over the steering wheel and brake check every two feet.
2)My personal favorite, the good ole boy with a Mossy Oak bumper sticker, passes you like you are sitting still. As he passes you hear "Gimme Three Steps" blasting out of truck as he "YEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWS" down the highway....let the party begin.
So let's all jump in our cars and go buy some bread. Yep, bread, the mandatory purchase when Ole Man Winter pays a visit.
SIDEBAR:Tonight should be a fun show. Davenport is running the forty and Auburn coach Jeff Lebo will talk about his team.

Wasted Days and Wasted Nights
Yep, I drank the cool-aid. There, I admit it; I thought the Hogs would knock off Ole Miss in Oxford. This team does have the uncanny ability to screw things up (that ones for you coach).
We can talk about heart, diving after balls, and all the other basketball jargon that has been dissected with this team. It just comes down to sheer talent. It saddens me to say, there is not a lot of high caliber SEC talent on this team. Sure, there are some good players but they all seem to be on the same playing level. Sonny Weems has emerged but if he is stopped, who can pick up the pace?
Today, they are on the bubble and maybe it is where they are supposed to be. Heck, maybe they have overachieved. Think about it, the roster is filled with tall players who have a hard time scoring. The point guards play like a roller coaster and shooting guards who, well, really can't shoot. We have been fooled Hog fans with experience instead of talent. And for this senior class, from a fan's perspective, has been an experience.
DONT FORGET: RICHARD RUNS THE FORTY TOMORROW AT 4!!!! In Little Rock, you can catch the show on AM 920 starting at four and 102.9 at six.

We All Have Meltdowns
Well, it finally happened. I had my first meltdown with a caller, so I want to thank listener Tim for the pleasure(click on the word meltdown to hear the exchange, fast forward to 7:00 mark of the segment). All opinions are welcomed but going after Wally, when he is not even present, will not be tolerated.
My boss heard it, corrected me and rightfully so, I deserved it. My intent was dead on but my actions were off a bit. My co-host was not there to defend himself and that simply will not happen. Anyway, glad it's over and we will try it again tomorrow.
For the record, I hope Nolan coaches again.
