Whelp, it is time for this media idiot to exit the stage. Heck, I am surprised the show lasted five days much less five years but it did and man did we have a blast. My last in studio show will be Friday, December 14th. Cumulus has been supportive which makes this decision tougher but it is time to walk away.
There were more ups than downs and yes there are a few unanswered questions, they will be answered over time. Today is more about thanking those who took the time to give us a shot and stick around for a while. Grant Merrill will be filling in for the time being and though I will be calling in for a segment next week, the transition is underway. Again, for those who took the time to stop by, thank you. There are so many people to thank.
Richard- You,Meg and Gateway have been there for me during the good and bad. I drove you crazy yet your true friendship never wavered.
Bill- My man, Bill Ingram. I am so proud of you, Bill. Though you are great on-air, it is our private conversations off air that I will miss the most.
Lanny- My career would not be where it is without you, Lanny. I owe you a ton.
Hogville-There were times you freaked me out Hogville but you were fair. Thank you.
Wally- More good times than bad. Thank you for the first four years.
Mike Irwin-I dont think you will ever know how much I have learned from you. Your ability to make a story out of nothing is amazing. Your Hog coverage is second to none.
Brett Goode- Man, I have no idea how we became buddies but I am glad we did. You are a good(bad pun) man and one of the most humble human beings I know. Go Pack!
Wess Moore- I value our friendship, thank you for not bailing when others did. Keep up the good work(shameless plug, he has a great show on 93.3).
Russ- We had our share of ups and downs but it has been an honor watching you grow into the man you are today.
Nate- One of my biggest regrets is not getting you on the air sooner. All you need is a shot, hopefully you get it soon. You are an honest man with a great heart. I wish you the best.
Cindy Thompson- You are the greatest boss in the world!!
Linda, Scott and Drew- You have changed my life for the better.
Jeff and Lisa- You two always made me feel better, I will miss our talks. Peace and Profits.
Ross, Darren, Jeff, Cliff- You had the most difficult job in the world. Producing this show is not easy yet you guys did it with class. Thank you.
Power 92 & KOKY- Thank you for believing in what we were trying to accomplish.
And to my wife, Amy. You stood by me through some of my darkest times and I had no idea what unconditional love was until I met you. H and I are lucky!
Though replacing Chuck Barrett was one of the toughest things in my life (dude is good), saying goodbye is a helluva lot harder.
Goodbye,
Shawn
